![]() ![]() The USB-C cable plugs into the back of the keyboard, and doesn't interfere with use. It also charges via an included USB-C cable, making it possible for you to use the keyboard while it’s charging or keep it plugged in at all times if that’s what you prefer. ![]() The dongle stores conveniently in a secure spot on the bottom of the keyboard, so you can use it in wired mode and store the wireless dongle without losing it. The extenders also have rubber on the bottom though, so the keyboard won’t slide around your desk at all. The K596 has rubber feet on the bottom, as well as two extenders to allow for an angled position, but the keyboard only allows for a single height adjustment and it doesn’t adjust to different heights. I typically don’t use keyboard wrist rests, but I did use this one because it greatly improved the keyboard’s feel. It has texturing to provide a non-slip surface, but it’s not sharp or harsh on the skin. The wrist rest is plastic, yet still comfortable. The mechanical K596 comes with a wrist rest that attaches and detaches magnetically, and it feels fulfilling to remove and add the plastic wrist rest given the keyboard sort of grabs the magnets from the wrist rest from a short distance and attaches it from a few millimeters away. Plus, the additional keys allow you to test out different key types to see if you prefer something more clicky or tactile. The K596 provides everything you need to configure it, which is such a nice bonus, especially at this price point. In addition to the keyboard itself and wrist rest, you also get eight replacement switches (two blues, two blacks, two browns and two reds), key removal tools, a USB wireless dongle, and a USB-C charging cable. This is a high-quality unit that weighs more than 2.5 pounds in total. The first thing I noticed when taking the K596 from its packaging was its weight. It even includes extra switches and swapping tools. ![]() It’s highly customizable, giving gamers an easy means of programming and swapping keys, plus comes with linear switches for fast activation. This is an ideal keyboard for FPS, battle royale, and MOBA gaming. The best gaming keyboards provide a design that suits your specific gaming needs. Could this be some sort of overvoltage issue coming out of the usb ports that might be killing the keyboards? So far the razer has been fine for days but I like my strafe much more I feel like I'm slumming it with the razer but it's the only one working right now. I found a chipset update for my 990fx chipset and installed that and it seemed to be the fix but my strafe is still doing what it did before that was installed. I tested the strafe on my spanking new msi gaming laptop and it was fine but screws up on my main desktop. How can all these keyboards have problems on the same 's mind boggling. I had a teensy usb keyboard I was using for the xbox and it typed fine for a bit now it's skipping and repeating too. The corsair is again having issues just like the one i took back I simply cannot believe it failed again so soon. I have a corsair strafe that I just exchanged, lucky I got the warranty, and a razer widow ultimate 2016 that just came back as a replacement. The board is not that old and is a quality gigabyte product, I cannot believe this is the board but a complete fresh reinstall should have killed malware or viruses that could have been the issue. I have a maddening issue that i've even reinstalled windows and the problem is still here, the keys don't produce the right letter or repeat for no apparent reason, even after a reinstall. There is some sort of poling setting in the control panel accessibility section, turn it off that seems to be it for many. If you have windows 10 I've read a lot about anniversary edition f*ng up keyboards. ![]()
